Lollapalooza 2024: Bag Policy, Entry, Re-entry, Allowed & Prohibited Items
As Lollapalooza 2024 approaches, attendees should familiarize themselves with the festival’s bag policy, entry and re-entry procedures, and the list of allowed and prohibited items to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Lollapalooza Bag Policy
To expedite entry and ensure safety, Lollapalooza enforces a strict bag policy:
- Small Clutch Purses and Fanny Packs: Purses and fanny packs that are 6″ x 9″ or smaller do not need to be clear but must have no more than one pocket.
- Larger Bags: Any bag larger than 6″ x 9″ must be clear and no bigger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
- Hydration Packs: These are permitted and do not need to be clear, but they must be emptied of all liquid and have no more than two pockets (one for the reservoir and one additional pocket).
All bags will be searched upon entry, and guests can help keep lines moving by leaving large bags at home.
Allowed Items
To make the festival experience comfortable and enjoyable, the following items are allowed:
- Clear Bags: Made of clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC, and no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″.
- Small Clutch Purses and Fanny Packs: With no more than one pocket, and no larger than 6″ x 9″.
- Baby Strollers
- Binoculars
- Cameras: Basic point-and-shoot consumer-grade cameras without detachable lenses and accessories.
- Empty Reusable Water Bottles and Hydration Packs
- Sunscreen: In non-aerosol containers of 3.4 ounces or less.
- Factory Sealed Naloxone/Narcan Kit
- Prescription Medicine: In pharmacy-labeled containers, sufficient for the day. Medicines needing to be inhaled or smoked are allowed only if in a prescribed inhaler. Over-the-counter medications are allowed in a sufficient supply for the day and will be verified by medical personnel.
Prohibited Items
To maintain safety and order, certain items are prohibited:
- Non-Clear Bags: Bags that are not clear or larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″, and small clutch purses and fanny packs with more than one pocket.
- Aerosol Containers: Including sunscreen and personal beauty products.
- Blankets, Sheets, and Towels
- Frisbees
- Coolers: Except for medical use.
- Framed Backpacks and Multi-Pocket Backpacks: Any backpack not aligned with the allowed specifications.
- Professional Audio and Video Equipment: Including cameras with detachable lenses, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, and other commercial equipment.
- Drones and Remote Flying Devices
- Hammocks
- Glass Containers
- Illegal Substances
- Outside Food and Beverages: Including alcohol.
- Umbrellas
- Pets: Except service animals.
- Selfie Sticks
- Skateboards, Scooters, Bicycles, Wagons, Carts, and Personal Motorized Vehicles
- Tents, Canopies, and Shade Structures
- Totems and Flag Poles
- Unauthorized Vendors and Solicitation Materials
- Weapons, Explosives, and Fireworks
- Large Chains and Spiked Jewelry
- Chairs of Any Kind
Entry and Re-entry
Upon entering Lollapalooza, all guests and their belongings will be subject to search. The festival allows patrons to leave and re-enter the grounds up to two additional times. Each re-entry requires scanning the wristband and passing through security again.
